While most trainers evolve Finizen into Palafin immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Only weak to Electric and Grass. Known as the Dolphin Pokemon. Can go either physical or special depending on the set.
Finizen's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Defense trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Easy to catch and worth 1 Speed EV, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It likes playing with others of its kind using the water ring on its tail. It uses ultrasonic waves to sense the emotions of other living creatures.
Its water ring is made from seawater mixed with a sticky fluid that Finizen secretes from its blowhole.
Finizen Weakness
GoodFinizen's Water typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric and Grass moves. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Only 2 weaknesses makes it relatively easy to build around defensively.
Finizen evolves into Palafin. It's a two-stage chain with the method shown below. A massive partner pool for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are takes forever to hatch. The evolved forms gain up to 142 total stats over Finizen.
How to Evolve
Breed Finizen easily with 195 breeding partners from the Ground and Water2 egg groups. Pass egg moves like Boomburst, Bounce, Counter and 2 more to offspring.
Nothing and Waterveil form the backbone. Finizen invests a spread EV build EVs to play its physical attacker role properly, and Jolly nature pushes Speed higher. Hydro Pump handles the heavy lifting on offense. Normal coverage rounds it out.

Finizen isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Palafin to unlock its full potential. At 315 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Finizen evolves into Palafin at level 38. Finizen is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Water Veil prevents burns — that's the one you want on Finizen. Only ability available, so no decision to make.
Finizen fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker — base 45 Attack and 45 Sp. Atk. Base 75 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
Finizen can be found in Scarlet & Violet.
Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Finizen has appeared in 1 games across 1 generation. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
