Cufant is technically a pre-evolution of Copperajah, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Sheer Force drops secondary effects for a straight power boost, adding extra value. Poison moves can't touch it, and only 3 types hit it super-effectively.

Nothing fancy in Cufant's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 1 Attack EV per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

It digs up the ground with its trunk. It’s also very strong, being able to carry loads of over five tons without any problem at all.

Sword

If a job requires serious strength, this Pokémon will excel at it. Its copper body tarnishes in the rain, turning a vibrant green color.

Shield

Cufant Weakness

Excellent

Type-wise, Cufant takes extra damage from Fire, Fighting, and Ground. Poison moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. It resists 10 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely.

Breeding's the move. Belch and Curse give Cufant options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 9 types already covers a decent range on top of Steel Roller and Iron Head. The egg moves push it further.

  • At 330 BST, Cufant is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Copperajah before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Cufant's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Lucario (Fighting), and Excadrill (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. At base 40 Speed, Cufant won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Cufant evolves into Copperajah at level 34. Cufant is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Cufant gets Sheer Force and Heavy Metal. But Sheer Force is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Cufant is a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. But the speed tells the real story — base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.

  • Cufant can be found in Scarlet & Violet and Sword & Shield.

Since Sword & Shield, Cufant has been obtainable in 2 games. A Generation 8 debut means a shorter history, but Cufant has appeared steadily across every generation since.
