Corsola Guide
Corsola isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Cursola to unlock its full potential. At 410 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Corsola's biggest threats include Gyarados (Water), Exeggutor (Grass), and Golem (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ghost, Dark, and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 30 Speed, Corsola won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Weak Armor is the go-to ability for Corsola. It raises Speed and lowers Defense by one stage each upon being hit by a physical move. Its hidden ability Cursed Body can work in specific setups.
Corsola fills the support role. It's a special attacker with base 65 Sp. Atk. Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Corsola does the job early-game if you need a Ghost/Rock type on your team. Evolve it into Cursola before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
Corsola first appeared in Gold & Silver and spans 17 games across 9 generations. It later gained a Galarian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
