Slow is good when Trick Room is up, and Camerupt is about as slow as they come. Fire/Ground typing gives it a defined role on the team. Electric moves can't touch it, and only 2 types hit it super-effectively. Known as the Eruption Pokemon.
Nothing fancy in Camerupt's spread. It leans mixed with Sp. Atk out front. And you'll get 2 Attack and Sp. Atk EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
A POKéMON that lives in the crater of a volcano. Every 10 years, the volcanoes on its back erupt violently. Research is under way on the cause of eruption.
Camerupt Weakness
GoodCamerupt's Fire/Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water and Ground moves. Water hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. The Fire/Ground typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Solid Rock reduces SE moves damage, further improving the defensive spread.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
Camerupt is what Numel becomes. Breed it for Numel eggs (average hatch time). A massive partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolution from Numel pushed Camerupt to 460 total stats. Attack saw the largest single gain at +40.
How to Evolve
Breed with Camerupt to get Numel eggs easily using 102 partners from the Ground egg group. Notable egg moves include Body Slam, Defense Curl, Howl and 3 more.
Brave nature gives Camerupt the slow physical lean it needs to trade hits effectively. Leftovers adds passive recovery each turn, a spread EV build EVs split the difference, and Normal coverage punishes anything trying to wall it.

You'll want to breed for Body Slam and Defense Curl on Camerupt. These egg moves aren't just nice to have. Combined with STAB from Eruption and Overheat, they expand what Camerupt can actually threaten in practice.

Step 2Camerupt ✓
Camerupt works as an attacker with 460 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list — a situational pick that fills a niche. That 105 base Sp. Atk does the heavy lifting.
Watch for Milotic (Water) and Swampert (Ground) when using Camerupt. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Milotic is the most dangerous since Water moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 40 Speed, Camerupt won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Numel evolves into Camerupt at level 33. Camerupt is the fully evolved form. It sits at 460 BST in its evolved form.
Magma Armor prevents freezing — that's the one you want on Camerupt. Anger Point is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Solid Rock works too if your team needs something different.
Camerupt is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 40 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the attacker role.
