Accelgor leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

  2. Accelgor
    Step 2Accelgor
  • Accelgor works as a sweeper with 495 BST behind it. C-Tier on our list: a situational pick that fills a niche. That 145 base Speed does the heavy lifting.

  • Watch for Blaziken (Fire), Staraptor (Flying), and Terrakion (Rock) when using Accelgor. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Accelgor's base 145 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.

  • Hydration cures any major status ailment after each turn during rain. That's the one you want on Accelgor. Unburden is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Sticky Hold works too if your team needs something different.

  • Accelgor is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Speed tells the real story. Base 145 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.

  • Accelgor has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.

Since Black & White, Accelgor has been obtainable in 7 games. A Generation 5 debut means a shorter history, but Accelgor has appeared steadily across every generation since.
