Mid-stage Pokemon like Quaxwell rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Quaquaval, which is where the real potential kicks in. Only weak to Electric and Grass. Known as the Practicing Pokemon.

An unusually even spread gives Quaxwell flexibility. Attack barely edges ahead. But Sp. Def isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 2 Attack EVs.

    Step 2Quaxwell
  • Quaxwell is meant to evolve into Quaquaval. At 410 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • Watch for Raikou (Electric) and Breloom (Grass) when using Quaxwell. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Quaxly evolves into Quaxwell at level 16. Quaxwell evolves into Quaquaval at level 36. Quaxwell is a middle-stage evolution in the Quaxly line.

  • Torrent strengthens water moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less — that's the one you want on Quaxwell. Moxie is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Quaxwell is a physical attacker with base 85 Attack.

  • Quaxwell can be found in Scarlet & Violet.

Quaxwell joined the series in Scarlet & Violet and has been available in 1 titles so far. With 1 generation of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
