How to Get Latias in FireRed & LeafGreen
Latias is LeafGreen's Eon Ticket legendary. The ticket unlocks Southern Island, where Latias appears as a single static encounter. FireRed players get Latios instead, making this a version-split event legendary.
Latias cannot be caught in the wild in FireRed & LeafGreen, but you can still get it via these paths:
Pokemon HOME · Switch Rerelease
Playing the Switch version of FireRed & LeafGreen? Pokemon HOME compatibility is post-launch but deposit-only by design (FRLG → HOME). Inbound HOME transfer of Latias into FRLG is not possible — an original GBA cartridge with a Link Cable is the only inbound route.
Obtain and trade from these games:
Then trade to FireRed & LeafGreen.
Also Obtainable In:
Direct cartridge trade across generations isn't possible — but the Pokemon HOME path above bridges this gap once Switch support launches.
Latias Weakness
Latias is weak to Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, and Dark. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Latias's special bulk (base 130 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Bug, Ghost, Dragon, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Fighting, Psychic |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

Moves List
Most of Latias's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Dream Eater and Mist Ball, but Flying and Normal and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.
