Zweilous is technically a pre-evolution of Hydreigon, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Psychic moves can't touch it, which offsets the 5 weaknesses somewhat. Known as the Hostile Pokemon. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets.
Attack and HP carry most of Zweilous's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Attack EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
The two heads do not get along at all. If you don’t give each head the same amount of attention, they’ll begin fighting out of jealousy.
The two heads have different likes and dislikes. Because the heads fight with each other, Zweilous gets stronger without needing to rely on others.
Zweilous Weakness
VulnerableType-wise, Zweilous takes extra damage from Fairy, Ice, Fighting, Bug, and Dragon. Watch out for Fairy attacks, those deal 4x damage. Psychic moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong.
Partway through Deino's chain. Zweilous still has another evolution ahead before reaching Hydreigon. For breeding, takes forever to hatch with plenty of partners via one egg group. HP has grown the most so far (+20), but there's still another 180 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Breed with Zweilous to get Deino eggs using 65 partners from the Dragon egg group. Notable egg moves include Astonish, Belch, Double Hit and 1 more.
Hustle and Eviolite give Zweilous staying power beyond its evolution stage. Adamant nature boosts Attack, max HP and Attack EVs set the spread, and the pre-evolution bulk actually works here. Rest patches up chip damage.

The egg pool carries weight here. Astonish and Belch aren't available any other way for Zweilous, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Draco Meteor and Outrage for solid options.

Zweilous is meant to evolve into Hydreigon. At 420 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Zweilous's biggest threats include Gardevoir (Fairy), Kyurem (Ice), and Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Gardevoir is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage. Bug and Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Hustle is the go-to ability for Zweilous. It strengthens physical moves to inflict 1.5× damage, but decreases their accuracy to 0.8×. It's Zweilous's only ability.
At base 58 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Zweilous is a physical attacker with base 85 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Zweilous appears in 8 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.
Zweilous joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 5 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
