  • At 420 BST, Poipole is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Naganadel before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Watch for Landorus (Ground) and Reuniclus (Psychic) when using Poipole. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Beast Boost raises this Pokémon's highest stat by one stage when it faints another Pokémon. That's the one you want on Poipole. It's the only ability Poipole has.

  • Poipole is a mixed attacker with base 73 Attack and 73 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 73 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many.

  • For a casual playthrough, Poipole works as a placeholder. Poison coverage is useful early. The real payoff is Naganadel. That's where the stats start mattering.
