Ogerpon's spread isn't flashy. Attack leads, Sp. Atk trails, 5 stats clear the bar. Very hard to catch and worth 3 Attack EVs, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.

The build revolves around U-turn for safe pivoting. Defiant and Heavy-Duty Boots support Ogerpon's hit-and-run approach, with max Attack and Speed EVs making sure each pivot actually threatens. Utility options adds versatility.

Without TMs, Ogerpon's movepool is bare bones. With them, you get coverage across 8 types on top of Leaf Storm and Solar Blade for STAB. The natural kit handles basics, but TMs are doing the real work.

Ogerpon is not available as a wild encounter in this game.

This is an event-exclusive or special distribution.

  • Ogerpon has a 550 base stat total and ranks as B-Tier: a solid choice for the right team. It works best as a sweeper. Base 120 Attack is where it shines.

  • Watch for Infernape (Fire), Kyurem (Ice), and Naganadel (Poison) when using Ogerpon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Defiant raises Attack two stages upon having any stat lowered. That's the one you want on Ogerpon. It's the only ability Ogerpon has.

  • Ogerpon fills the sweeper role. It's a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Base 110 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Ogerpon has answers, but so do you. Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.

Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Ogerpon has appeared in 1 games across 2 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
