Speed and Attack carry most of Maushold's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Moderately hard to find and yields 2 Speed EVs. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
Fighting moves hit Maushold for super-effective damage. The upside? Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all. Just 1 weak spot to worry about, which keeps teambuilding straightforward.

Evolved from Tandemaus. Maushold is the final form in this two-stage line. No compatible partners for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are quick to hatch. Speed grew the most through evolution (+36 over Tandemaus), and Maushold peaks at 470 total stats. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Maushold is genderless — breed with Ditto to produce Tandemaus eggs. Part of the Fairy and Ground egg groups.
Maushold leads with Focus Sash insurance. Even if it can't take a hit naturally, it'll survive long enough to deal early damage. Flexible EVs go all-in on offense since bulk doesn't matter here.

Can't catch Maushold directly. Start with Tandemaus at solid rates from the locations below, then evolve at level 25. The 2-stage line from Tandemaus to Maushold is where the leveling time goes.
How to Obtain Maushold in Scarlet & Violet
To get Maushold, start by catching Tandemaus through walking encounters at Lv. 7-29. The chain covers 1 catchable stage before reaching the final form.

Step 2Maushold ✓
Technician changes the entire equation for Maushold. The 470 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked B-Tier as a pivot.
Watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Maushold. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Maushold's base 111 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Technician is what you want on Maushold. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Friend Guard, Cheek Pouch) work on paper but Technician is what makes Maushold worth using.
Base 111 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Maushold is a physical attacker with base 75 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a pivot.
Run Followme, Protect, Beatup, and Superfang on Maushold. Followme is the most common pick at 25% usage. This set covers the pivot role with a mix of damage and utility.
Maushold joined the series in Scarlet & Violet and has been available in 1 titles so far. With 2 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
