Mid-stage Pokemon like Grovyle rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Sceptile, which is where the real potential kicks in. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Known as the Wood Gecko Pokemon.

Grovyle Weakness
FragileFire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug-type moves hit Grovyle for super-effective damage. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. 5 weaknesses means you'll want teammates that can handle the coverage gaps.

Partway through Treecko's chain. Grovyle still has another evolution ahead before reaching Sceptile. For breeding, average hatch time with a decent partner pool via two egg groups. So far, Speed got the biggest boost (+25 from Treecko). The final form adds another 125 stats on top.

Breed with Grovyle to get Treecko eggs easily using 30 partners from the Dragon and Monster egg groups. Notable egg moves include Crunch, Crush Claw, Double Kick and 9 more.

Grovyle is meant to evolve into Sceptile. At 405 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Overgrow strengthens grass moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less — that's the one you want on Grovyle. Unburden is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Base 95 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Grovyle is a special attacker with base 85 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
