Giratina Weakness
Giratina's Ghost/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice, Ghost, Dragon, and Dark. It shrugs off Normal and Fighting-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Giratina's overall bulk (150/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Each move's competitive rank in RankedBoost's system. TM, Egg, and Tutor sort by tier by default (best first). On Level-Up, click the Tier header to do the same.

Giratina Black & White Guide
For the Black & White meta, At 680 BST, Giratina is built different. We rank it S-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wall. Rest with Leftovers is the standard set.
Levitate is what you want on Giratina. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. On wall sets, Levitate pairs with Giratina's base 100 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Giratina is a physical attacker with base 120 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wall.
For Black & White, Giratina has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Physical attackers can break through.
Game Availability
First obtainable in Diamond & Pearl, Giratina has been featured in 13 titles across 7 generations. Legendary status means a single encounter per playthrough in most games.
