Stats & Training
Attack and Sp. Def carry most of Gallade's stat budget. Defense's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Because it can sense what its foe is thinking, its attacks burst out first, fast, and fierce.
A master of courtesy and swordsmanship, it fights using extending swords on its elbows.
Gallade Weakness
Gallade's Psychic/Fighting typing leaves it vulnerable to Flying, Ghost, and Fairy. Gallade's special bulk (base 115 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Flying, Ghost, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fighting, Rock |
In X & Y, Clefable's Moonblast hits Gallade for 53-62%. Gengar's Shadow Ball also KOs at 106-124%.

X & Y Gallade Best Moveset
Gallade doesn't rely on pure speed. Leftovers gives it passive recovery each turn to stay healthy, and Adamant nature still pushes offense. Close Combat and the remaining moves keep the pressure on while spread EVs balance power and survivability.

Gallade Guide
For X & Y, we rate Gallade C-Tier: a niche pick in X & Y's meta. At 518 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Close Combat with Leftovers is the standard set.
In X & Y, Gallade can Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade. That's 618 BST, up from 518. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.
Steadfast raises Speed one stage upon flinching. That's the one you want on Gallade. Justified is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Sharpness works too if your team needs something different.
Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Gallade is a physical attacker with base 125 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
