Attack and Sp. Def carry most of Gallade's stat budget. Defense's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Attack EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
When trying to protect someone, it extends its elbows as if they were swords and fights savagely.
Gallade Weakness
Gallade's Psychic/Fighting typing leaves it vulnerable to Flying and Ghost. Few weaknesses and 2 resistances make the typing clean. Gallade's special bulk (base 115 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Platinum Gallade Best Moveset
Life Orb and Steadfast form the backbone. Gallade invests max Attack and Speed EVs to play its physical attacker role properly, and Jolly nature pushes Speed higher. Close Combat handles the heavy lifting on offense. The remaining moves rounds it out.

For Platinum, we rate Gallade C-Tier: a niche pick in Platinum's meta. At 518 BST, it fits the wallbreaker role. Close Combat with Life Orb is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Platinum, but Gallade does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Gallade hits 618 BST.
Steadfast raises Speed one stage upon flinching. That's the one you want on Gallade. Justified is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Sharpness works too if your team needs something different.
Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Gallade is a physical attacker with base 125 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
