Ghost moves don't affect Exploud at all — that's the advantage of Normal typing. It relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up. Can go either physical or special depending on the set. Introduced in Gen 3.
Raw HP carries Exploud's bulk more than the defenses do. Defense barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A tough to catch Loud Noise Pokemon that yields 3 HP EVs on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Its roar in battle shakes the ground like a tremor--or like an earthquake has struck.
Exploud Weakness
GoodExploud's Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting moves. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. With 104 HP and balanced defenses, Exploud can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
End of the line. Exploud caps a three-stage chain that started at Whismur. Breeding produces the base form, and eggs are average hatch time. Sp.Def grew the most through evolution (+50 over Whismur), and Exploud peaks at 490 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Exploud to get Whismur eggs easily using 131 partners from the Ground and Monster egg groups. Notable egg moves include Endeavor, Extrasensory, Hammer Arm and 5 more.
The moveset leans on Psychic and Fire coverage to catch would-be counters. Life Orb means extra damage on every hit for a health trade for Exploud, and max Attack and Speed EVs make sure nothing walls it cleanly. Soundproof fills in the gaps.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Exploud won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 12 types means it always has an effective option. Hyper Beam and Giga Impact anchor the STAB core.

Step 3Exploud ✓
We rate Exploud C-Tier — a situational pick that fills a niche. At 490 BST, the stats are spread pretty evenly. Base 104 HP stands out.
Watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Exploud. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Soundproof protects against sound-based moves — that's the one you want on Exploud. Scrappy is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
At base 68 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Exploud is a special attacker with base 91 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
