Dusclops is technically a pre-evolution of Dusknoir, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Normal and Fighting moves can't touch it, and only 2 types hit it super-effectively. Part of the Gen 3 roster.
The stat bars tell the story: Defense carries everything and Speed's dead weight. But this Beckon Pokemon still yields 2 Defense and Sp. Def EVs per fight on a fast 800K XP curve.
Anyone who dares peer into its body to see its spectral ball of fire will have their spirit stolen away.
Dusclops Weakness
ExcellentDusclops is weak to Ghost and Dark-type moves. On the flip side, it's immune to Normal and Fighting-type moves entirely. Dusclops's overall bulk (40/130/130) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
Dusclops connects Duskull to Dusknoir in this chain. At least one evolution here needs a trade. Defense has grown the most so far (+40), but there's still another 70 stats to gain in the final evolution.
How to Evolve
Breed with Dusclops to get Duskull eggs easily using 31 partners from the Indeterminate egg group. Notable egg moves include Destiny Bond, Feint Attack, Grudge and 4 more.
This is a pure walling set. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn so Dusclops sticks around, and the Calm nature reinforces special wall. Rest handles sustain while Pressure does work passively.

Egg moves make a real difference. Dusclops gets Destiny Bond and Feint Attack exclusively through breeding, filling gaps that TMs and level-up can't touch. Coverage across 9 types rounds out the picture alongside Shadow Ball and Shadow Punch.

At 455 BST, Dusclops is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Dusknoir before bringing it to any serious fight.
Pressure is the go-to ability for Dusclops. It increases the PP cost of moves targetting the Pokémon by one. Its hidden ability Frisk can work in specific setups.
Dusclops is a physical attacker with base 70 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 25 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
Dusclops appears in 16 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.
Since Ruby & Sapphire, Dusclops has been in 16 games. Requiring a trade evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
