Under Trick Room, Drampa's terrible Speed becomes its best asset — it 'outspeeds' nearly everything when turns are reversed. And it hits hard enough to make that matter. Ghost moves can't touch it, which offsets the 4 weaknesses somewhat. Its damage comes from the special side.

Drampa's all-in on Sp. Atk at the expense of Speed. The special lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs and follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

The mountains it calls home are nearly two miles in height. On rare occasions, it descends to play with the children living in the towns below.

Sword

Drampa is a kind and friendly Pokémon—up until it’s angered. When that happens, it stirs up a gale and flattens everything around.

Shield

Drampa Weakness

Avg

Drampa is weak to Ice, Fighting, Dragon, and Fairy-type moves. On the flip side, it's immune to Ghost-type moves entirely. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Sap Sipper grants an additional Grass immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

Drampa spreads damage across 2 coverage types. Drampanite provides extra utility to maximize each hit, and max HP and Sp. Atk EVs push the math. Berserk ties the set together while Electric and Flying coverage prevents safe switch-ins.

Drampa doesn't appear in Legends: Z-A. Transfer it from Moon, Ultra Moon, or Shield to add it to your collection. Check the source games below for encounter details.

Drampa is not available as a wild encounter in this game.

Also found in:

  • Don't let Drampa's 485 base stat total fool you. Sap Sipper is what makes it tick — it punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a wallbreaker.

  • Drampa's biggest threats include Lapras (Ice), Hitmonlee (Fighting), and Salamence (Dragon), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. At base 36 Speed, Drampa won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Drampa doesn't evolve and has no evolutionary line. It's a Normal/Dragon-type Pokemon with a 485 base stat total.

  • Run Sap Sipper on Drampa. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Drampa also gets Berserk and Cloud Nine, but they don't compare.

  • Drampa fills the wallbreaker role. It's a special attacker with base 135 Sp. Atk. Base 36 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Drampa can be found in Legends: Z-A, Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Drampa first appeared in Sun & Moon and spans 4 games across 3 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
