Stats & Training
Crawdaunt's built around physical offense. Attack leads the charge, Sp. Def pays for it. Common in the wild, worth 2 Attack EVs. Follows a standard growth curve.
A brutish POKéMON that loves to battle. A veteran CRAWDAUNT that has prevailed in hundreds of battles has giant pincers marked with countless scars.
Crawdaunt Weakness
Type-wise, Crawdaunt takes extra damage from Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Bug. Psychic moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Crawdaunt's physical bulk (base 85 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Grass, Fighting, Bug |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Ice, Ghost, Dark, Steel |

- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

Crawdaunt Guide
In Emerald, Don't let Crawdaunt's 468 base stat total fool you. Adaptability is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a cannon. Brickbreak with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Emerald, Run Adaptability on Crawdaunt. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Crawdaunt also gets Hyper Cutter and Shell Armor, but they don't compare.
In Emerald, Crawdaunt fills the cannon role. It's a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. At base 55 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Emerald, Adaptability is the hidden ability. It increases the same-type attack bonus from 1.5× to 2×. Worth hunting for if you want Crawdaunt to compete at a higher level.
