While most trainers evolve Corphish into Crawdaunt immediately, the unevolved form can still contribute in the right matchup. Only weak to Electric and Grass. Part of the Gen 3 roster. Known as the Ruffian Pokemon.

Nothing fancy in Corphish's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 1 Attack EV per KO for it. Follows a standard growth curve.

Once it grips prey with its large pincers, it will never let go, no matter what. It is a hardy POKéMON that can thrive in any environment.

Corphish Weakness

Good

Electric and Grass-type moves hit Corphish for super-effective damage. The Water typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Corphish's physical bulk (base 65 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

  • At 308 BST, Corphish is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Crawdaunt before bringing it to any serious fight.

  • Watch for Manectric (Electric) and Venusaur (Grass) when using Corphish. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. At base 35 Speed, Corphish won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Corphish evolves into Crawdaunt at level 30. Corphish is the base form of this evolutionary line.

  • Corphish gets Adaptability, Hyper Cutter, and Shell Armor. But Adaptability is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Corphish is a special attacker with base 50 Sp. Atk. Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 35 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the trick room role.

  • Corphish appears in 15 games, including Ruby & Sapphire, FireRed & LeafGreen, and Emerald.

Debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Corphish appears in 15 games across 7 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
