That 4x Psychic weakness is something every Sneasler user needs to plan around. At least it resists 6 types to make up for it. Known as the Free Climb Pokemon. The stat spread favors raw physical power.

Sneasler's all-in on Attack at the expense of Sp. Atk. The physical lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 2 Attack EVs and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Because of Sneasler’s virulent poison and daunting physical prowess, no other species could hope to best it on the frozen highlands. Preferring solitude, this species does not form packs.

Sneasler Weakness

Avg

Sneasler's Fighting/Poison typing leaves it vulnerable to Psychic, Ground, and Flying moves. Psychic hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. 6 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. With 80 HP and balanced defenses, Sneasler can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Unburden isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Grassyseed for extra utility and max Attack and Speed EVs, Sneasler fills the physical attacker slot reliably. Jolly nature finishes the spread.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Sneasler won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Focus Punch and Close Combat anchor the STAB core.

Sneasler doesn't appear wild. Catch Sneasel instead, it shows up at solid rates. Evolve it through a special method to get Sneasler. The 2-stage line is mapped in the step cards below.

How to Obtain Sneasler in Scarlet & Violet

Sneasel is your first catch on the way to Sneasler. You'll find walking encounters from Lv. 15-60 across 6 total spots in the chain.

  2. Sneasler
    Step 2Sneasler
  • Sneasler has a 510 base stat total and ranks as S-Tier — one of the best competitive options available. It works best as a sweeper. Base 130 Attack is where it shines.

  • Watch for Gardevoir (Psychic), Garchomp (Ground), and Braviary (Flying) when using Sneasler. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Gardevoir is the most dangerous since Psychic moves deal 4x damage.

  • .

  • Pressure increases the PP cost of moves targetting the Pokémon by one — that's the one you want on Sneasler. Poison Touch is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Unburden works too if your team needs something different.

  • Sneasler fills the sweeper role. It's a physical attacker with base 130 Attack. Base 120 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Sneasler can be found in Scarlet & Violet and Legends: Arceus.

Introduced in Sword & Shield, Sneasler has appeared in 2 games across 2 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
