How to Get Sableye in FireRed & LeafGreen
Sableye skips Sapphire entirely but lives in Ruby and Emerald's Granite Cave and Victory Road basement. FRLG players trade from Ruby or Emerald to add this ghost-dark to Kanto.
Sableye cannot be caught in the wild in FireRed & LeafGreen, but you can still get it via these paths:
Pokemon HOME · Switch Rerelease
Playing the Switch version of FireRed & LeafGreen? Pokemon HOME compatibility is post-launch but deposit-only by design (FRLG → HOME). Inbound HOME transfer of Sableye into FRLG is not possible — an original GBA cartridge with a Link Cable is the only inbound route.
Catch in the wild and trade from these games:
Then trade to FireRed & LeafGreen.
Also Obtainable In:
Direct cartridge trade across generations isn't possible — but the Pokemon HOME path above bridges this gap once Switch support launches.
Sableye Weakness
Sableye has no type weaknesses thanks to its unique defensive typing. Normal, Fighting, and Psychic moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 0.5x (Resist) | Poison |
| 0x (Immune) | Normal, Fighting, Psychic |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

FRLG Sableye Best Moveset
Dark/Ghost typing creates zero weaknesses in this format (Fairy doesn't exist yet), meaning nothing hits Sableye super-effectively. AbilityKeen Eye prevents accuracy drops. The moveset plays disruption with MoveWill-O-Wisp for burns and MoveRecover for sustain, but 50 base stats across the board mean negligible damage output.

Moves List
Breeding's the move. Moonlight and Psych Up give Sableye options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 8 types already covers a decent range on top of Shadow Ball and Knock Off. The egg moves push it further.
