Bayleef cannot be caught in this game. It must be traded in from a compatible game where it appears in the wild. On GBA, cross-region trading unlocks post-game after Celio's Sevii Islands Ruby & Sapphire quest. The Switch re-release supports only one-way transfers out to Pokemon HOME. Alternatively, transfer the pre-evolution and level it up to Lv 16.

So far, HP got the biggest boost (+15 from Chikorita). The final form adds another 120 stats on top. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding

Moves List
Don't skip the egg moves. Bayleef picks up Ancient Power and Counter only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Solar Beam and Giga Drain while Normal and Steel coverage and more adds range.
