Stats & Training
Nothing fancy in Zigzagoon's spread. It leans mixed with Speed out front. And you'll get 1 Speed EV per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Its restlessness has it constantly running around. If it sees another Pokémon, it will purposely run into them in order to start a fight.
Thought to be the oldest form of Zigzagoon, it moves in zigzags and wreaks havoc upon its surroundings.
Zigzagoon Weakness
Zigzagoon's Dark/Normal typing leaves it vulnerable to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. Fighting hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Psychic and Ghost-type attacks completely.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fighting |
| 2x (Weak) | Bug, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Dark |
| 0x (Immune) | Psychic, Ghost |
Urshifu can KO Zigzagoon with Close Combat (618-727%). Fezandipiti threatens a KO with Moonblast (109-128%). Galvantula's Thunder also KOs at 104-122%.

How to Evolve
Zigzagoon Best Moveset
One guaranteed turn is all Zigzagoon needs. Focus Sash buys it, max HP and Attack EVs make it count, and Gluttony adds something extra. The goal: deal early damage and deal damage with Extreme Speed. Utility options gives it play beyond just the lead turn.

Moves
The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Zigzagoon's coverage across 9 types all comes from technical machines, built on top of Double-Edge and Take Down for same-type damage. Take Down and Double-Edge are the payoff moves.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Zigzagoon won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Double-Edge and Take Down anchor the STAB core.
Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Zigzagoon won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 11 types means it always has an effective option. Last Resort and Double-Edge anchor the STAB core.
The natural movepool does the job, but Charm and Helping Hand from the egg pool give Zigzagoon something extra. Pair those with Double-Edge and Take Down for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.

Not a straight line. Zigzagoon can become Linoone at level 20 and Galarian Linoone at level 20. Your choice depends on what you need.
For a casual playthrough, Zigzagoon works as a placeholder. Dark/Normal coverage is useful early. The real payoff is Linoone. That's where the stats start mattering.
