Psychic is a dangerous matchup for Toxicroak — quadruple damage means one hit can end things. On the flip side, it resists 6 types, so the defensive profile isn't all bad. Dry Skin helps compensate. Known as the Toxic Mouth Pokemon.
The stat budget goes to damage. Attack and Sp. Atk carry the offense, Defense doesn't even come close. A Toxic Mouth Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 2 Attack EVs per KO.
Swaying and dodging the attacks of its foes, it weaves its flexible body in close, then lunges out with its poisonous claws.
Toxicroak Weakness
AvgType-wise, Toxicroak takes extra damage from Psychic, Ground, and Flying. Watch out for Psychic attacks, those deal 4x damage. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Dry Skin grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Toxicroak leans offensive (base 106 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
Evolved from Croagunk. Toxicroak is the final form in this two-stage line. A decent partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Attack grew the most through evolution (+45 over Croagunk), and Toxicroak peaks at 490 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Toxicroak to get Croagunk eggs easily using 39 partners from the Humanshape egg group. Notable egg moves include Bullet Punch, Counter, Cross Chop and 9 more.
Black Sludge buys the setup turn. Toxicroak clicks Swords Dance, then starts cleaning with Sucker Punch and the remaining moves. Jolly nature with max Attack and Speed EVs makes sure nothing tanks a boosted hit comfortably.

Stall teams hate this. Toxicroak can spread damage across 10 types, with Ghost and Ground punishing common defensive pivots. STAB from Focus Punch and Focus Blast keeps the pressure honest on everything else.

Dry Skin is what you want on Toxicroak. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Anticipation, Poison Touch) work on paper but Dry Skin is what makes Toxicroak worth using.
