Mid-stage Pokemon like Tinkatink rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Tinkaton, which is where the real potential kicks in. Poison and Dragon moves can't touch it, and only 2 types hit it super-effectively. Known as the Metalsmith Pokemon.
Tinkatink's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Def leads, Sp. Atk trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Common in the wild and worth 1 Sp. Def EV, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
It swings its handmade hammer around to protect itself, but the hammer is often stolen by Pokémon that eat metal.
This Pokémon pounds iron scraps together to make a hammer. It will remake the hammer again and again until it’s satisfied with the result.
Tinkatink Weakness
FortressFire and Ground-type moves hit Tinkatink for super-effective damage. The upside? Poison and Dragon-type moves can't touch it at all. 9 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that.
Tinkatink is the start of a three-stage chain. It evolves into Tinkatuff first, then eventually reaches Tinkaton. For breeding, average hatch time with a decent partner pool via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 209 total stats over Tinkatink.
How to Evolve
Breed Tinkatink with 45 breeding partners from the Fairy egg group. Pass egg moves like Feint, Ice Hammer, Quash to offspring.
Lead with Tinkatink, set Stealth Rock, and keep pressure on. Pickpocket and Eviolite buy the time it needs, with a spread EV build EVs letting it take hits while controlling the hazard game.

Without breeding, Tinkatink misses out on Feint and Ice Hammer. That's 3 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Steel Beam and Play Rough, with coverage across 7 types rounding things out.

Tinkatink isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Tinkatuff to unlock its full potential. At 297 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Tinkatink evolves into Tinkatuff at level 24. Tinkatink is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.
Run Mold Breaker on Tinkatink. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Tinkatink also gets Own Tempo and Pickpocket, but they don't compare.
Tinkatink fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 45 Attack). At base 58 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
Tinkatink can be found in Legends: Z-A and Scarlet & Violet.
Introduced in Scarlet & Violet, Tinkatink has appeared in 2 games across 1 generation. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
