Stats & Training
Bulk defines Swadloon's stat line. Defense and Sp. Def anchor the defensive side, but Speed can't keep up offensively. Common in the wild and worth 2 Defense EVs.
Forests where Swadloon live have superb foliage because the nutrients they make from fallen leaves nourish the plant life.
It protects itself from the cold by wrapping up in leaves. It stays on the move, eating leaves in forests.
Swadloon Weakness
Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug, and Rock moves hit Swadloon for super-effective damage. Fire and Flying hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses.

| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Poison, Bug, Rock |

Swadloon Guide
Swadloon is meant to evolve into Leavanny. At 380 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Aerodactyl (Flying), and Cloyster (Ice) when using Swadloon. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Arcanine is the most dangerous since Fire moves deal 4x damage. Poison, Bug, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Chlorophyll is what you want on Swadloon. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Leaf Guard, Overcoat) work on paper but Chlorophyll is what makes Swadloon worth using.
Base 42 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Swadloon is leaning toward the physical side (base 63 Attack). Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Swadloon joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 7 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
