Speed and Attack carry most of Staravia's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 2 Speed EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Recognizing their own weakness, they always live in a group. When alone, a Staravia cries noisily.
They maintain huge flocks, although fierce scuffles break out between various flocks.
Electric, Ice, and Rock moves hit Staravia for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground and Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all.
| Damage | Types |

| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock |

Partway through Starly's chain. Staravia still has another evolution ahead before reaching Staraptor. For breeding, quick to hatch with plenty of partners via one egg group. So far, Attack got the biggest boost (+20 from Starly). The final form adds another 145 stats on top. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Prediction matters here. Choice Band means Staravia can't change moves after clicking, but the payoff is raw power at the cost of move flexibility. Max Attack and Speed EVs with Intimidate back that up. The remaining moves prevents free switches.

Moves
Level-up moves are just the starting point for Staravia. TMs unlock Fighting and Fire coverage and more and turn a straightforward STAB kit around Brave Bird and Double-Edge into something with actual range.

Tutor Moves
Leveling does the heavy lifting. Staravia picks up Take Down and Brave Bird along the way, building toward a complete offensive set. TMs add Fire and Dark coverage and more, but the foundation's already strong by then.
Not a lot to pick from. Staravia gets Giga Impact and Double-Edge for same-type damage, and Ghost coverage rounds things out. You're building around what's available rather than choosing from a deep bench.
Without breeding, Staravia misses out on Astonish and Detect. That's 8 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Brave Bird and Double-Edge, with Fighting and Steel coverage and more rounding things out.
Staravia appears at moderate rates across 8 spots in mid-game routes. Sort by Best below if you want the highest rate, or Earliest if you want the quickest access point in your playthrough.
