While most trainers evolve Skorupi into Drapion immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Only weak to Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock. Introduced in Gen 4. Known as the Scorpion Pokemon.
Defense and Speed carry most of Skorupi's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 1 Defense EV. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
After burrowing into the sand, it waits patiently for prey to come near. This Pokémon and Sizzlipede share common descent.
It attacks using the claws on its tail. Once locked in its grip, its prey is unable to move as this Pokémon’s poison seeps in.
Skorupi Weakness
AvgSkorupi's Poison/Bug typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Psychic, and Rock moves. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Skorupi's physical bulk (base 90 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
One evolution ahead. Skorupi grows into Drapion through a straightforward two-stage chain. A decent partner pool for breeding via two egg groups. Eggs are average hatch time. The evolved forms gain up to 170 total stats over Skorupi.

Breed Skorupi easily with 47 breeding partners from the Bug and Water3 egg groups. Pass egg moves like Confuse Ray, Sand Attack, Slash and 1 more to offspring.

You can catch Skorupi through 60 walking encounters from Lv. 10-30, but availability differs between Shield and Sword. Some spots are exclusive to one version.
Skorupi is meant to evolve into Drapion. At 330 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Skorupi evolves into Drapion at level 40. Skorupi is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Battle Armor protects against critical hits — that's the one you want on Skorupi. Keen Eye is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Sniper works too if your team needs something different.
At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Skorupi is a physical attacker with base 50 Attack.
