Marowak's spread favors physical bulk over offense. Defense leads the defensive side, Speed eats the cost. Yields 2 Defense EVs per defeat. Medium-fast 1M XP curve to level.
It has transformed the spirit of its dear departed mother into flames, and tonight it will once again dance in mourning of others of its kind.

Water, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Marowak for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. 7 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Lightning Rod grants an additional Electric immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Marowak's physical bulk (base 110 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

How to Evolve
The recommended build leans into Marowak's strengths as a physical attacker. Thickclub provides extra utility, and max HP and Attack EVs back that up. Battlearmor rounds out the package.

In Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, watch for Starmie (Water), Golem (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Marowak. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
For Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, it depends on your team. Marowak at 425 BST isn't a powerhouse, but the Fire/Ghost coverage might be exactly what you're missing.
In Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, Don't let Marowak's 425 base stat total fool you. Lightning Rod is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier. Firepunch with Thickclub is the standard set.
In Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, Run Lightning Rod on Marowak. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Marowak also gets Cursed Body and Rock Head, but they don't compare.
Marowak first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 20 games across 10 generations. It later gained an Alolan form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
