Leafeon's stats are solid on their own, but Chlorophyll is what pushes it over the line. It doubles its Speed in sun. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Built to hit on the physical side. Part of the Gen 4 roster.

Nothing fancy in Leafeon's spread. It leans physical with Defense out front. And you'll get 2 Defense EVs per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

When you see Leafeon asleep in a patch of sunshine, you’ll know it is using photosynthesis to produce clean air.

Scarlet

The younger they are, the more they smell like fresh grass. With age, their fragrance takes on the odor of fallen leaves.

Leafeon Weakness

Fragile

Type-wise, Leafeon takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. The Grass typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Leafeon's physical bulk (base 130 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

One boost from Swords Dance and Leafeon gets dangerous fast. The Jolly nature targets max Attack and Speed, and Chlorophyll backs the whole approach. Leafblade and the remaining moves handle most of what's left standing.

Recommended Teammates

Most of Leafeon's flexibility comes from TMs. Same-type output runs through Leaf Storm and Solar Blade, but Dark and Normal and the rest of the TM pool push it from predictable to genuinely threatening.

No wild encounters for Leafeon in Legends: Z-A. Bring Eevee over from Red, Yellow, or Ultra Sun, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.

How to Obtain Leafeon in Legends: Z-A

  1. Eevee
    Step 1Obtain Eevee
  2. Leafeon
    Step 2Leafeon
  • Leafeon looks average on paper at 525 BST. But Chlorophyll is why it sees play — build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier attacker on our tier list.

  • Leafeon's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Weavile (Ice), and Gengar (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Eevee evolves into Leafeon using a Leaf Stone. Leafeon is the final evolution in a 9-stage line starting from Eevee. At 525 BST, it's got solid stats to work with.

  • Leafeon gets Chlorophyll and Leaf Guard. But Chlorophyll is the one that matters — it's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Leafeon is a physical attacker with base 110 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. But the speed tells the real story — base 95 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. Fits the attacker role.

  • Leafeon appears in 14 games, including Platinum, HeartGold & SoulSilver, and Diamond & Pearl.

Since Diamond & Pearl, Leafeon has been in 14 games. Requiring an item-based evolution to obtain means it's consistently available but requires more effort than simply catching it in the wild.
