Ivysaur sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Bulbasaur but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Venusaur as fast as possible. Only weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. Known as the Seed Pokemon.
You won't find a real weakness in Ivysaur's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Seed Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 2 Sp. Atk and Sp. Def EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
When the bud on its back starts swelling, a sweet aroma wafts to indicate the flower’s coming bloom.

The egg pool carries weight here. Amnesia and Charm aren't available any other way for Ivysaur, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Leaf Storm and Solar Beam for solid options.
