Ivysaur sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Bulbasaur but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Venusaur as fast as possible. Only weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. Known as the Seed Pokemon.
You won't find a real weakness in Ivysaur's stat line. It's well-rounded for the Seed Pokemon, and what it does with that depends on moveset and items. Yields 2 Sp. Atk and Sp. Def EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
When the bulb on its back grows large, it appears to lose the ability to stand on its hind legs.
Exposure to sunlight adds to its strength. Sunlight also makes the bud on its back grow larger.
Ivysaur Weakness
VulnerableType-wise, Ivysaur takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. The Grass/Poison typing picks up 5 resistances to work with.

How to Evolve
Breed with Ivysaur to get Bulbasaur eggs easily using 50 partners from the Plant and Monster egg groups. Notable egg moves include Curse, Ingrain, Nature Power and 3 more.
Don't let the NFE status fool you. Ivysaur with Eviolite hits bulk numbers that compete with final forms. Max Sp. Atk without Speed EVs and Modest nature maximize that, and Chlorophyll handles the rest.
