What separates Heatmor from the pack is Flash Fire — it absorbs Fire moves and powers up its own. Combine that with Fire typing and it relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up. Introduced in Gen 5.
The stat budget goes to damage. Sp. Atk and Attack carry the offense, Speed doesn't even come close. An Anteater Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs per KO.
It breathes through a hole in its tail while it burns with an internal fire. Durant is its prey.
Using their very hot, flame-covered tongues, they burn through Durant’s steel bodies and consume their insides.
Heatmor Weakness
AvgHeatmor's Fire typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Ground, and Rock moves. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
No evolution chain to worry about here. Heatmor is a standalone Pokemon with a massive partner pool for breeding through one egg group. Eggs come out average hatch time.
How to Evolve
Breed Heatmor easily with 180 breeding partners from the Ground egg group. Pass egg moves like Body Slam, Curse, Feint Attack and 7 more to offspring.
Gluttony isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Salacberry for extra utility and flexible EVs EVs, Heatmor fills the special attacker slot reliably. Timid nature finishes the spread.

The natural movepool does the job, but Body Slam and Curse from the egg pool give Heatmor something extra. Pair those with Fire Blast and Inferno for STAB and coverage across 9 types for reach, and the kit fills out nicely.
