What separates Heatmor from the pack is Flash Fire — it absorbs Fire moves and powers up its own. Combine that with Fire typing and it relies on priority moves or Scarf to keep up. Introduced in Gen 5.
The stat budget goes to damage. Sp. Atk and Attack carry the offense, Speed doesn't even come close. An Anteater Pokemon on a medium-fast 1M XP curve, worth 2 Sp. Atk EVs per KO.
It draws in air through its tail, transforms it into fire, and uses it like a tongue. It melts Durant and eats them.
Heatmor Weakness
AvgHeatmor's Fire typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Ground, and Rock moves. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)
No evolution chain to worry about here. Heatmor is a standalone Pokemon with no compatible partners for breeding through one egg group. Eggs come out average hatch time.
How to Evolve
Breed Heatmor easily from the Ground egg group. Pass egg moves like Body Slam, Curse, Feint Attack and 7 more to offspring.
Gluttony isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Salacberry for extra utility and flexible EVs EVs, Heatmor fills the special attacker slot reliably. Timid nature finishes the spread.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Heatmor won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Fire Blast and Inferno anchor the STAB core.

At base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Heatmor is a special attacker with base 105 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.
