Raw HP carries Guzzlord's bulk more than the defenses do. Speed barely registers. But that HP pool covers for it. A tough to catch Junkivore Pokemon that yields 3 HP EVs on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Although it’s alien to this world and a danger here, it’s apparently a common organism in the world where it normally lives.
An unknown life-form called a UB. It may be constantly hungry—it is certainly always devouring something.
Guzzlord's Dark/Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Fairy, Ice, Fighting, Bug, and Dragon. Fairy hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. It shrugs off Psychic-type attacks completely. With 6 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Guzzlord's overall bulk (223/53/53) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 4x (Critical) | Fairy |
| 2x (Weak) | Ice, Fighting, Bug, Dragon |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Ghost, Dark |
| 0x (Immune) | Psychic |
Archaludon's Dragon Pulse hits Guzzlord for 69-81%. Annihilape deals 50-59% with Drain Punch.

Beastboost isn't flashy, but it matters. Combined with Life Orb for extra damage on every hit for a health trade and max HP and Attack EVs, Guzzlord fills the physical attacker slot reliably. Brave nature finishes the spread.

Moves
Level-up moves are just the starting point for Guzzlord. TMs unlock coverage across 8 types and turn a straightforward STAB kit around Outrage and Dragon Rush into something with actual range.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Guzzlord won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 10 types means it always has an effective option. Draco Meteor and Outrage anchor the STAB core.
Leveling does the heavy lifting. Guzzlord picks up Belch and Iron Tail along the way, building toward a complete offensive set. TMs add coverage across 9 types, but the foundation's already strong by then.
Guzzlord doesn't appear in Sword & Shield. Transfer it from Sun or Ultra Sun to add it to your collection. Check the source games below for encounter details.
You'll find Guzzlord at Ultra Space as a set encounter. It's always there at that location, so come prepared for the battle. The location details below cover exact positioning.

Best Locations to Catch Guzzlord in Sun & Moon
We rate Guzzlord C-Tier: a situational pick that fills a niche. At 570 BST, it fits the tank role. Base 223 HP stands out.
Watch for Mimikyu (Fairy), Kyurem (Ice), and Machamp (Fighting) when using Guzzlord. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Mimikyu is the most dangerous since Fairy moves deal 4x damage. Bug and Dragon-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Guzzlord has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Beast Boost raises this Pokémon's highest stat by one stage when it faints another Pokémon. That's the one you want on Guzzlord. It's the only ability Guzzlord has.
Base 43 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Guzzlord is a physical attacker with base 101 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a tank.
Guzzlord has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Guzzlord joined the series in Sun & Moon and has been available in 3 titles so far. With 4 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
