Nothing fancy in Groudon's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 3 Attack EVs per KO for it. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It had been asleep in underground magma ever since it fiercely fought Kyogre long ago.

Groudon's Ground typing leaves it vulnerable to Water, Grass, and Ice. It shrugs off Electric-type attacks completely. Groudon's physical bulk (base 140 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

How to Evolve
Breeding
Adamant nature gives Groudon the physical lean it needs to trade hits effectively. Assault Vest adds a special bulk boost with no status moves allowed, max HP and Attack EVs split the difference, and the remaining moves punishes anything trying to wall it.

Breadth over depth defines this movepool. Groudon won't stack one type's damage ceiling, but coverage across 12 types means it always has an effective option. Precipice Blades and Earthquake anchor the STAB core.

At 670 BST, Groudon is built different. We rank it A-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Groudon gets Drought. But Drought is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. On wall sets, Drought pairs with Groudon's base 140 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Groudon is leaning toward the physical side (base 150 Attack). Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. Fits the wallbreaker role.
Groudon has answers, but so do you. Status moves (Toxic, Will-O-Wisp) wear it down. Setup sweepers can use it as a boost opportunity. Special attackers bypass its physical bulk.
Since Ruby & Sapphire, Groudon has appeared in 16 games. Legendary Pokemon like Groudon are usually found through story events or special post-game areas rather than random encounters.
