Floette sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Flabebe but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Florges as fast as possible. Its damage comes from the special side. Introduced in Gen 6.

Sp. Def and Sp. Atk carry most of Floette's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Common in the wild and yields 2 Sp. Def EVs. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.

This Pokémon can draw forth the power hidden within yellow flowers. This power then becomes the moves Floette uses to protect itself.

Scarlet

Floette can draw forth the latent capabilities of Grass-type Pokémon. It syncs with yellow flowers.

Violet

Floette Weakness

Good

Type-wise, Floette takes extra damage from Poison and Steel. Dragon moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Floette's special bulk (base 98 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Flower VeilProtects friendly grass Pokémon from having their stats lowered by other Pokémon.
SymbiosisHAPasses the bearer's held item to an ally when the ally uses up its item.

Sitting between Flabébé and Florges, Floette is part of a chain that requires an evolution item. Not your typical level-up setup. Sp.Def has grown the most so far (+19), but there's still another 181 stats to gain in the final evolution.

Breeding's the move. Camouflage and Captivate give Floette options it can't learn any other way, and Normal and Grass coverage already covers a decent range on top of Moonblast and Dazzling Gleam. The egg moves push it further.

No wild encounters for Floette in Sun & Moon. Bring Flabébé over from X, Ultra Sun, or Scarlet, then level through the stages. Each step in the chain is laid out below.

How to Obtain Floette in Sun & Moon

  1. Flabébé
    Step 1Obtain Flabébé

    Catch in the wild in:

Then trade to Sun & Moon to continue the evolution chain.

    Also found in:

  2. Floette
    Step 2Floette
  • Floette is meant to evolve into Florges. At 371 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • Floette's biggest threats include Crobat (Poison) and Aegislash (Steel), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Flabebe evolves into Floette at level 19. Floette evolves into Florges using a Shiny Stone. Floette is a middle-stage evolution in the Flabebe line.

  • Flower Veil is the go-to ability for Floette. It protects friendly grass Pokémon from having their stats lowered by other Pokémon. Its hidden ability Symbiosis can work in specific setups.

  • At base 52 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Floette is a special attacker with base 75 Sp. Atk.

  • Floette appears in 6 games, including X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Since debuting in X & Y, Floette has appeared in 6 titles over 4 generations. Along the way, it received a Mega form in Generation 6, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
