Mid-stage Pokemon like Fletchling rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Talonflame, which is where the real potential kicks in. Introduced in Gen 6. Ground and Ghost moves can't touch it, and only 3 types hit it super-effectively.
An unusually even spread gives Fletchling flexibility. Speed barely edges ahead. But Sp. Def isn't far off. Easy to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 1 Speed EV.
This Pokémon is normally calm, but once it enters battle, its hormonal balance changes and it becomes aggressive.
Fletchling can be found in both rural and urban areas. They once had a huge territorial dispute with Squawkabilly. Fights broke out all over town.
Fletchling Weakness
GoodElectric, Ice, and Rock-type moves hit Fletchling for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground and Ghost-type moves can't touch it at all.
Three stages ahead. Fletchling grows into Fletchinder, then pushes on to Talonflame. Check the evolution methods below. For breeding, quick to hatch with no compatible partners via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 221 total stats over Fletchling.
How to Evolve
Breed Fletchling easily from the Flying egg group.
You commit to a move every time Fletchling comes in. Choice Specs gives boosted special damage with move lock, and Galewings adds to that. A spread EV build EVs make sure the locked move actually hurts. Utility options covers the rest.

At base 62 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Fletchling is leaning toward the physical side (base 50 Attack). Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
