Vanillite sits at the start of its evolution line — not yet at full power, but that changes fast. Most trainers push through to Vanilluxe as fast as possible. Only weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel. Known as the Fresh Snow Pokemon.
Vanillite's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, HP trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Easy to catch and worth 1 Sp. Atk EV, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
Unable to survive in hot areas, it makes itself comfortable by breathing out air cold enough to cause snow. It burrows into the snow to sleep.
Supposedly, this Pokémon was born from an icicle. It spews out freezing air at −58 degrees Fahrenheit to make itself more comfortable.
Vanillite Weakness
FragileType-wise, Vanillite takes extra damage from Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel. 4 weaknesses is about average, nothing too hard to play around.
Vanillite is the start of a three-stage chain. It evolves into Vanillish first, then eventually reaches Vanilluxe. For breeding, average hatch time with plenty of partners via one egg group. Evolving adds up to 230 stat points total.
How to Evolve
Breed Vanillite easily with 60 breeding partners from the Mineral egg group. Pass egg moves like Aurora Veil, Autotomize, Explosion and 3 more to offspring.
The Sash lets Vanillite ignore defensive shortcomings for one turn. Use that turn to deal early damage, and Weakarmor squeezes extra value from the position. Max Sp. Atk and Speed EVs push damage output.

Breeding's the move. Aurora Veil and Autotomize give Vanillite options it can't learn any other way, and Ghost and Normal coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Blizzard and Ice Beam. The egg moves push it further.

Vanillite fills the balanced role. It's a special attacker with base 65 Sp. Atk. Base 44 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
