Vanillite sits at the start of its evolution line — not yet at full power, but that changes fast. Most trainers push through to Vanilluxe as fast as possible. Only weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel. Known as the Fresh Snow Pokemon.

Vanillite's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, HP trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Easy to catch and worth 1 Sp. Atk EV, on a slow 1.25M XP grind.

Breeding's the move. Autotomize and Ice Shard give Vanillite options it can't learn any other way, and Ghost and Normal coverage and more already covers a decent range on top of Blizzard and Ice Beam. The egg moves push it further.

  • Vanillite isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Vanillish to unlock its full potential. At 305 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Vanillite's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Lucario (Fighting), and Terrakion (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.

  • Vanillite evolves into Vanillish at level 35. Vanillite is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.

  • Ice Body is the go-to ability for Vanillite. It heals for 1/16 max HP after each turn during hail. Its hidden ability Weak Armor can work in specific setups. Snow Cloak is the other option — pick based on what your team needs.

  • Vanillite fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the special side (base 65 Sp. Atk). Base 44 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's fragile — can't afford to take many hits.

  • Vanillite appears in 8 games, including Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y.

Introduced in Black & White, Vanillite has appeared in 8 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
