While most trainers evolve Spoink into Grumpig immediately, the unevolved form has a niche with Eviolite boosting its defenses. Only weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. The stat spread leans into special offense. Introduced in Gen 3.
Sp. Def and Sp. Atk carry most of Spoink's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Easy to catch and yields 1 Sp. Def EV. Follows a fast 800K XP curve.
Spoink bounces around on its tail. The shock of its bouncing makes its heart pump. As a result, this Pokémon cannot afford to stop bouncing—if it stops, its heart will stop.
Spoink keeps a pearl on top of its head. The pearl functions to amplify this Pokémon’s psychokinetic powers. It is therefore on a constant search for a bigger pearl.
