Stats & Training
The stat bars tell the story: Defense carries everything and Sp. Atk's dead weight. But this Rock Peak Pokemon still yields 3 Defense EVs per fight on a slow 1.25M XP grind.
A POKéMON that is made entirely of rocks and boulders. If parts of its body chip off in battle, REGIROCK repairs itself by adding new rocks.
Regirock Weakness
Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Steel moves hit Regirock for super-effective damage. The Rock typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Regirock's physical bulk (base 200 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Steel |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Normal, Fire, Poison, Flying |

Emerald Regirock Best Moveset
Bulk and offense in one package. Regirock runs Leftovers for passive recovery each turn with a Adamant nature, so it survives long enough to threaten with Explosion. Max HP and Attack EVs and Normal and Fighting coverage make it hard to safely switch into.

Moves
The level-up pool is slim, so TMs matter here. Regirock's Normal and Fighting coverage and more all comes from technical machines, built on top of Rock Slide and Ancient Power for same-type damage. Explosion and Superpower are the payoff moves.

Regirock Guide
For the Emerald meta, At 580 BST, Regirock is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Legendary Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a tank. Explosion with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Emerald, watch for Starmie (Water), Venusaur (Grass), and Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Regirock. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ground and Steel-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Regirock has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Clear Body prevents stats from being lowered by other Pokémon. That's the one you want on Regirock. Sturdy is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.
Regirock is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the tank role.
In Emerald, run Explosion, Rock Slide, Thunder Wave, and Superpower on Regirock. Explosion is the most common pick at 23% usage. This set covers the tank role with a mix of damage and utility.
