Mid-stage Pokemon like Pikipek rarely see competitive play outside of special formats. It's a waypoint on the road to Toucannon, which is where the real potential kicks in. Part of the Gen 7 roster. Ground and Ghost moves can't touch it, and only 3 types hit it super-effectively.
Nothing fancy in Pikipek's spread. It leans physical with Attack out front. And you'll get 1 Attack EV per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It pecks at trees with its hard beak. You can get some idea of its mood or condition from the rhythm of its pecking.
It may look spindly, but its neck muscles are heavy-duty. It can peck at a tree 16 times per second!
Pikipek Weakness
GoodPikipek's Normal/Flying typing leaves it vulnerable to Electric, Ice, and Rock moves. It shrugs off Ground and Ghost-type attacks completely.
Pikipek kicks off a three-stage evolution line through Trumbeak all the way to Toucannon. For breeding, quick to hatch with a decent partner pool via one egg group. The evolved forms gain up to 220 total stats over Pikipek.
How to Evolve
Breed Pikipek easily with 45 breeding partners from the Flying egg group. Pass egg moves like Boomburst, Gunk Shot, Sky Attack to offspring.
You commit to a move every time Pikipek comes in. Choice Scarf gives speed patching through item lock, and Skilllink adds to that. A spread EV build EVs make sure the locked move actually hurts. The remaining moves covers the rest.

You'll want to breed for Boomburst and Gunk Shot on Pikipek. These egg moves aren't just nice to have. Combined with STAB from Boomburst and Sky Attack, they expand what Pikipek can actually threaten in practice.

At 265 BST, Pikipek is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Trumbeak before bringing it to any serious fight.
Watch for Rotom (Electric), Walrein (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Pikipek. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB.
Pikipek evolves into Trumbeak at level 14. Pikipek is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.
Keen Eye prevents accuracy from being lowered — that's the one you want on Pikipek. Pickup is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Skill Link works too if your team needs something different.
Pikipek is a physical attacker with base 75 Attack. Fragile — can't afford to take many hits, too. But the speed tells the real story — at base 65 Speed, it won't be moving first often.
Pikipek can be found in Scarlet & Violet, Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
Since Sun & Moon, Pikipek has been obtainable in 3 games. A Generation 7 debut means a shorter history, but Pikipek has appeared steadily across every generation since.
