Stats & Training
Pidgeot's spread isn't flashy. Speed leads, Sp. Atk trails, 3 stats clear the bar. Tough to catch and worth 3 Speed EVs, on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
When hunting, it skims the surface of water at high speed to pick off unwary prey such as Magikarp.
It spreads its gorgeous wings widely to intimidate enemies. It races through the skies at Mach-2 speed.
Pidgeot Weakness
Type-wise, Pidgeot takes extra damage from Electric, Ice, and Rock. Ground and Ghost moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. With 83 HP and balanced defenses, Pidgeot can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Bug |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground, Ghost |
In X & Y, Weavile's Ice Shard hits Pidgeot for 64-75%. Zapdos threatens a KO with Thunderbolt (85-100%). Tyranitar's Stone Edge also KOs at 142-167%.

Nothing fancy here. Pidgeot builds around Nothing for extra utility, Hardy nature for the right stat lean, and spread EVs. Keeneye does its job quietly.

Moves
The egg pool carries weight here. Air Cutter and Air Slash aren't available any other way for Pidgeot, and they meaningfully change what it threatens. Stack those on top of Giga Impact and Hyper Beam for solid options.

How to Get Pidgeot in X & Y
Pidgeot doesn't appear wild. Catch Pidgey instead, it shows up at decent rates. Evolve it at level 36 to get Pidgeot. The 3-stage chain is mapped in the step cards below.
How to Obtain Pidgeot in X & Y
To get Pidgeot, start by catching Pidgey through walking encounters at Lv. 3-4. The chain covers 1 catchable stage before reaching the final form.
Pidgeot Guide
In X & Y, Pidgeot has a 479 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a niche pick in X & Y's meta. It works best as a pivot. Defog with Nothing is the standard set.
In X & Y, yes. Mega Pidgeot hits 579 BST, a solid jump from the base 479. Hold the Mega Stone, trigger it in battle, and it lasts the whole fight. One Mega per team.
Keen Eye is the go-to ability for Pidgeot. It prevents accuracy from being lowered. Its hidden ability Big Pecks can work in specific setups. Tangled Feet is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
In X & Y, Pidgeot fills the pivot role. It's a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Base 101 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Pidgeot first appeared in Red & Blue and spans 19 games across 10 generations. It later gained a Mega form in Generation 7, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
