Stats & Training
Natu's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Atk leads, HP trails, 0 stats clear the bar. Common in the wild and worth 1 Sp. Atk EV, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It usually forages for food on the ground but may, on rare occasions, hop onto branches to peck at shoots.
Because its wings aren’t yet fully grown, it has to hop to get around. It is always staring at something.
Natu Weakness
Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Natu for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Psychic |
| 0.25x (Resist) | Fighting |
| 0x (Immune) | Ground |
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move

Moves
Don't skip the egg moves. Natu picks up Drill Peck and Feather Dance only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Future Sight and Dream Eater while Ghost and Normal coverage and more adds range.

Natu Guide
Get Natu to Xatu at level 25. At 320 BST, Natu is just the starting point.
Level 25 gets you Xatu. Not the fastest evolution, so consider Exp. Share or route grinding to speed it up.
In FireRed & LeafGreen, Natu does the job early-game if you need a Psychic/Flying type on your team. Evolve it into Xatu before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
You can find Natu in FireRed & LeafGreen. The Locations section has the full breakdown of routes and encounter details. It also appears in 15 other games across the series.
Game Availability
