Meganium doesn't stand out in any single area, but it gets the job done for in-game teams. 5 type weaknesses to keep in mind. Been around since Gen 2. Known as the Herb Pokemon. Flexible enough to run physical or special sets.
An unusually even spread gives Meganium flexibility. Defense barely edges ahead. But HP isn't far off. Tough to catch and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve. Yields 3 Defense and Sp. Def EVs.
Its breath has the fantastic ability to revive dead plants and flowers.
Meganium Weakness
FragileType-wise, Meganium takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Meganium's overall bulk (80/100/100) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.
End of the line. Meganium caps a three-stage chain that started at Chikorita. Breeding produces the base form, and eggs are average hatch time. HP grew the most through evolution (+35 over Chikorita), and Meganium peaks at 525 total stats.
How to Evolve
Breed with Meganium to get Chikorita eggs easily from the Plant and Monster egg groups.
Nothing fancy here. Meganium builds around Meganiumite for extra utility, Modest nature for the right stat lean, and max HP and Sp. Atk EVs. Overgrow does its job quietly.

Recommended Teammates
TMs carry this one. Meganium learns Frenzy Plant and Leaf Storm naturally for STAB, but the offensive range comes almost entirely from technical machines. Normal and Fairy and beyond give it real matchup play.

Meganium isn't available in the wild in Legends: Z-A. Start by transferring Chikorita from Gold, Crystal, or Brilliant Diamond. The evolution path from Chikorita to Meganium is covered in the steps below.
We rate Meganium C-Tier — a situational pick that fills a niche. At 525 BST, the stats are spread pretty evenly. Base 100 Defense stands out.
Overgrow is the go-to ability for Meganium. It strengthens grass moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. Its hidden ability Leaf Guard can work in specific setups.
Base 80 Speed is workable — faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Meganium is a physical attacker with base 82 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits.
Meganium appears in 17 games, including Gold & Silver, Crystal, and Ruby & Sapphire.
Available in 17 titles since its debut in Gold & Silver, Meganium spans 8 generations of Pokemon games. It's accessible through wild encounters in most mainline games.
