Gothita sits at the start of its evolution line — not yet at full power, but that changes fast. Most trainers push through to Gothitelle as fast as possible. Known as the Fixation Pokemon. Introduced in Gen 5.
Sp. Def and Sp. Atk carry most of Gothita's stat budget. Attack's the obvious dump stat. Easy to catch and yields 1 Sp. Def EV. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
This Pokémon is normally very innocent. When it is staring at something invisible, it is unblinking and utterly silent.
Beware of touching the ribbon-shaped feelers that control its psychic power. Gothita will begin bawling if you do.

VulnerableType-wise, Gothita takes extra damage from Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Standard number of weaknesses for the Psychic typing.

Gothita is meant to evolve into Gothorita. At 290 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Gothita's biggest threats include Volcarona (Bug), Chandelure (Ghost), and Houndoom (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.
Gothita evolves into Gothorita at level 32. Gothita is the base form in a 3-stage evolutionary line.
Frisk is the go-to ability for Gothita. It reveals an opponent's held item upon entering battle. Its hidden ability Shadow Tag can work in specific setups. Competitive is the other option — pick based on what your team needs.
Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Gothita is a mixed attacker — base 30 Attack and 55 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Fragile — can't afford to take many hits.
