Drowzee is technically a pre-evolution of Hypno, but it holds its own in formats where Eviolite is allowed. Only weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Been around since Gen 1. Known as the Hypnosis Pokemon.
Drowzee's spread isn't flashy. Sp. Def leads, Speed trails, 1 stats clear the bar. Common in the wild and worth 1 Sp. Def EV, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
If you think that you had a good dream, but you can’t remember it, a DROWZEE has probably eaten it.
It remembers every dream it eats. It rarely eats the dreams of adults because children’s are much tastier.
Drowzee Weakness
VulnerableDrowzee is weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type moves. Drowzee's special bulk (base 90 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
- Dark and Steel types added — Fairy does not exist yet
- Moves are Physical or Special based on type, not per move
- Special stat split into Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
Drowzee evolves into Hypno. It's a two-stage chain with the method shown below. A small partner pool for breeding via one egg group. Eggs are average hatch time. Evolving adds up to 155 stat points total.
How to Evolve
Breed Drowzee easily with 15 breeding partners from the Humanshape egg group. Pass egg moves like Barrier, Light Screen to offspring.
Best Build
Gen 2 build content has limited support (no abilities).

TMs define Drowzee's movepool. The natural moves cover basics with Future Sight and Dream Eater, but the real versatility comes from technical machines giving it Normal and Fighting coverage and more. That's where the options open up.

Drowzee's scattered across 6 spots in early-game routes with high spawn rates. Check the list below for the closest location to wherever you are in the game. This one's quick.
Best Locations

Drowzee isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Hypno to unlock its full potential. At 328 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Drowzee's biggest threats include Scyther (Bug), Misdreavus (Ghost), and Tyranitar (Dark), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.
Drowzee evolves into Hypno at level 26. Drowzee is the base form of this evolutionary line.
Drowzee fills the balanced role. It's leaning toward the physical side (base 48 Attack). Base 42 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
Drowzee appears in 19 games, including Yellow, Red & Blue, and Gold & Silver.
Drowzee has been part of the series since Red & Blue, appearing in 19 titles across all 9 generations. As a Gen 1 original, it's one of the most consistently available Pokemon in the franchise.
