Crocalor sits in the middle of its evolution line — stronger than Fuecoco but not yet at full power. Most trainers push through to Skeledirge as fast as possible. Its damage comes from the special side. Introduced in Gen 9.

Sp. Atk and HP carry most of Crocalor's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 2 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.

Crocalor's built to absorb hits. Calm nature leans into special wall duty, Eviolite gives it a bulk boost that only works before full evolution, and Slack Off handles sustain. Unaware and max HP and Sp. Def EVs tie the defensive profile together.

Stall teams hate this. Crocalor can spread damage across 10 types, with Normal and Ghost punishing common defensive pivots. STAB from Overheat and Flare Blitz keeps the pressure honest on everything else.

No wild encounters for Crocalor. The 2-stage line runs through Fuecoco, which you can catch at moderate rates from the locations below. Evolve at level 16 once you've got the levels.

  2. Crocalor
    Step 2Crocalor
  • Crocalor is meant to evolve into Skeledirge. At 411 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.

  • Crocalor's biggest threats include Greninja (Water), Landorus (Ground), and Golem (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Fuecoco evolves into Crocalor at level 16. Crocalor evolves into Skeledirge at level 36. Crocalor is a middle-stage evolution in the Fuecoco line.

  • Unaware is what you want on Crocalor. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Blaze) work on paper but Unaware is what makes Crocalor worth using.

  • Base 49 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. On offense, Crocalor is a special attacker with base 90 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Crocalor can be found in Scarlet & Violet.

Crocalor joined the series in Scarlet & Violet and has been available in 1 titles so far. With 1 generation of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
